Update on BFUSA Search for New CEO

Published On: July 1, 2020|Tags: |

Dear Colleagues,

As we announced in May, Baby-Friendly USA CEO Trish MacEnroe will be retiring at the end of this calendar year.

The BFUSA Board is conducting a national search to find her successor by this fall, to provide time for a smooth transition to new leadership.

While Trish’s retirement is unrelated to the COVID-19 crisis, the Board recognizes that the timing of this search creates challenges in the current environment. We have extended the application timeline and will not begin reviewing applications before late July.

Over a million babies are born in Baby-Friendly designated hospitals every year. BFUSA is committed to hiring a CEO to assure that these hospitals uphold the highest standards of infant feeding care for all their families.  We encourage applications from individuals with a wide range of backgrounds, who will bring important perspectives to our work.

Update as of 9/28: Please note that BFUSA is no longer accepting applications for the CEO position.

Sincerely,

Theresa Landau, MS, RDN, CDN
Chairperson, BFUSA Board of Directors

Mary S. Applegate, MD, MPH
Chairperson, CEO Search Committee
